Just got back from volunteering for five hours with my son’s elementary for “BizTown.”
BizTown is is a real life mock city that we drove to 45 minutes away at a museum. In it they have businesses like gas stations, banks, real estate, airlines, UPS and freight companies. Throughout the day they learn about entrepreneurship, taking out loans to buy inventory, loan repayment, payroll, taxes, cash flow, and the world of adulting.
They each have a role. Some are sales associates, others are CFOs, or CEOs. Everyone had different responsibilities and pay scales according to their role.
The girl that gave me the certificate was voted my her classmates to be the “mayor” of the BizTown. She walked around and thanked the parents that volunteered, personally signing each of these at the end of the day.
