I’ve personally signed and mailed over 450 copies of my best selling SEO book, Outrank… on my dime. I save a note about every copy I send. When I know the person I write something personal. When I don’t, I wish them continued success. Either way, I thank them.
Rough estimate of $10-20 printed and shipped per book, let’s say $15 down the middle X 450 = $6,750… on a low end. Shipped a lot internationally, which are a lot more. But that $6.7k has brought me well over $100k in return.
Most the time my sales calls aren’t really sales calls. They already know my expertise, and relatable personal stories from my book, making sales calls more like done deals with small clarifying questions.
Take care of others. Give without expecting in return. It establishes expertise and trust, reduces sales friction, and builds loyal supporters that repeats the cycle.
