Got to speak to a University of Tennessee class this morning from an invite from the professor and long-time friend.

What’s cool was connecting with others entrepreneurs during the presentations.  The common denominators in our stories?

  1. Nothing was handed to us.
  2. We focus on helping others + authenticity.

Seems simple, but most people do the opposite.  They complain life isn’t fair. That others have a head start.

Yep and yep.

The moment you ask for handouts and don’t accept everything, good or bad, as your responsibility is the moment you lose momentum.

Every is your responsibility, good or bad. Doesn’t mean the bad cards dealt to you are your fault… but they are your responsibility.

Own it. Conquer it.

Then once you gain momentum, maintain integrity.  People want to do business with people they like and trust. It’s that simple.
