Just got back from taking Hottie and the kids on a Disney cruise. Cried the first day, but think I hid it well.

Never done a Disney cruise, but my wife and I did a Baja cruise ~17 years ago. Didn’t seem to be our thing then, doesn’t seem to be now. Glad we tried it though.

Only one of the kids asked if we we’re going to sink. When we asked their interest before actually telling them, they all acted like if we went it would be a death sentence.

Surprise went better than expected.

✅ went snorkeling
✅ kids liked the food
✅ had a lot of food allergy options for me
✅ the cruise app was helpful with event options
✅ took 100’s of pictures of Hottie lookin’ hot in her bikini
✅ added another country to the list that we made out in
✅ water slide down pyramid through pool of sharks
✅ played basketball and air hockey with the kids
✅ escaped gray skies, enjoyed sunshine
✅ took pics with Disney characters
✅ biked around Castaway Cay island
✅ kids swam with stingrays
✅ went parasailing

❌ was only one water slide available
❌ pools were all tiny, couldn’t really swim
❌ tough fully enjoying while also rushing off and on everywhere
❌ the cruise app was horrible at details of the event options
❌ got sick each time I drank water on the ship

My daughter lost a tooth. Good thing the Tooth Fairy was paying attention to it being loose, and was able to prepare ahead. Tooth Fairy came through, even in the middle of the ocean.

We went and asked for a bag so we wouldn’t lose it, and the staff gave her a button with Cheshire Cat and the words “I lost a tooth.”

Just this year my kids have been to Mexico, Canada, Japan, and now Bahamas, and half a dozen states in between.

Watching the take off celebration is where I got a bit emotional. Grateful to be in a position to provide these experiences for my kids.

Seeing how grateful Hottie is is icing on the cake.
