“Get featured in Forbes,” they say.

“It will help your SEO,” they say.

But what if it won’t? (It doesn’t)

What if you just paid a lot of money for nothing? (You just did.)

Getting featured in Forbes is a waste.

  1. It’s against their guidelines to buy placements.

The “contributors” that publish the content have to sign an agreement that they won’t pay to play. You’re getting played.

  1. See the green arrow in the screenshot? Yay! A link from Forbes.

See the red arrow? The little word under neath it that says “nofollow?”

Nofollow literally tells search engines “Ignore this link.”

You basically just paid for bragging rights of an immorally placed, SEO-worthless feature.
