These kids’ snow cone shack at my son’s soccer tournament just gave most adult businesses a masterclass on operational efficiency and customer service.

  • Greeted us as soon as we walked up
  • Asked clearly what we needed
  • Set expectations

One scoops the ice. Other chops it. Last one flavors it up.  No overload with analysis paralysis either. Two options only; Tigers Blood or blue raspberry.

Scooper small talked with us when the ice machine jammed, and the customer line started to build.  Flavor master apologized and offered “extra for the wait.”

The ice machine jamming was nothing. That I noticed happened only once out of six snow cones.  And their prices were great. One for $1.25 or 3 for $3.

Snow cones in hand, they asked how our games were going, and asked if we won the soccer match.
