There are shady marketers out there that hold things hostage, or revoke it if you leave them.
Make sure you have your domain and hosting under your own logins.
Picked up a new client a few months ago that has three businesses. He gave us the SEO contract on one of them as a test. Crushed it, so now he’s moving his other two accounts to us, and his former marketer is sabotaging him.
Luckily (and unfortunately), told him ahead of time how to navigate this if he does, so we can restore (and improve upon) everything pretty quick.
And if you’re a marketer that does this, no wonder you do business with a scarcity mindset. Do clients right and you’ll see your reputation grow, even out of gratitude for the ones that left but you helped them with a seamless transition.
