HR asked me to record new team welcome videos. Instead of a perfect set up with a perfect mic, perfect outfit, and a script ready, I recorded it from the heart under a lamp post at my son’s soccer training camp.
Was a great opportunity to show that we’re all human, we all have family, and all have personal priorities.
Culture isn’t a cheesy motto hanging in the break room on a poster.
SHOW the culture you want.
- “Fast is slow”
- Micromanaging is not our thing; we are all adults.
- The importance of accountability, ownership, proactiveness, and integrity.
- Don’t be afraid of making mistakes—what matters is owning them and taking corrective actions.
- Encouraged open communication and collaboration within the team.
While I was recording for future team members to prioritize their health and personal priorities, the could SEE me living it.
I talked about how we’re all adults and micromanaging isn’t a fit. If you want to thrive, prioritize what matters to you while taking responsibility.
