New sauna just installed in the pool house, because personal burnout is real.
Hottie and I took a couples vacation a few weeks ago. The trip had a lot of hiccups. The first real time we relaxed was on day four, sitting in the sauna together with nothing around us. Just calm.
We realized:
- It was our first multi-day trip without the kids. Ever.
- We acknowledged how much we do, but from a different perspective.
We know we do a lot, in a good way. But we haven’t acknowledged that constantly doing for others can hit a breaking point for ourselves. We’d reached burnout in prioritizing others, and we both agreed we need to do less for a while.
Immediate goal, and going into new year is slowing down and appreciating ourselves more.
