They say that if you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room. I get it. But I also think there’s a lot of personal reward in the privilege of helping others.
Yesterday, I tried a new mastermind. I wasn’t the smartest in the room, but I had the opportunity to contribute probably the most.
If there were 12 people in the room, I offered tangible, actionable advice to at least half of them. And when the night was over, I stayed for another hour helping three others that had questions.
Masterminds have varying benefits. Most go for selfish reasons. Myself included.
- Network with someone new
- Deals with someone new
- Learn something new
One benefit too overlooked is the opportunity to:
🏆 Help someone new
I do hope to still learn new things, and do deals with new people in every mastermind. But sometimes helping others is more than enough of a reward.
Of the three people I stayed and talked to helping the most? Another SEO company… in my state. Direct “competition.”
At some point the next dollar masters less, and impact matters more.
