Want to be successful? Just show up. No joke.
The world is in the palm of your hands if you just a ) set expectations and b ) show up and deliver them… even at the most basic level.
1 – Had a young entrepreneur ask if I’d be a guest on his podcast.
I always like supporting aspiring entrepreneurs, so I scheduled a time a few weeks ago for today at 10 am. Ahead of showtime he DMs, “Please reply.”
But he hadn’t said anything to reply to. So I liked his comment, and he says he will send the link at 9:55.
10:01 and no link.
I reply asking, and get a red text reply “couldn’t deliver” message. I click his profile and… he blocked me?
2 – Hired a guy of TaskRabbit to knock out a few to-dos around the house.
Chose a time that was available on his calendar. He accepts, only to text that he’s NOT available. Annoying, but I want this job done so I do the availability dance. He replies he’ll let me know by tomorrow morning when he is available. Two days later, no update.
Those are the most basic examples. Now, do the same thing on a grander scale of business. Your competition is doing the same thing…
Not.Showing.Up.
Guarantee that if you set expectations and deliver on them better than you have been, you’ll be in a different galaxy of success in as little as a year.
